Establishment of 3rd South East Asian sales office in the Philippines
Accelerated expansion of ARKRAY's South East Asia business

ARKRAY, Inc. has established a sales office ARKRAY Co. Ltd., Inc. in the Philippines which from this May, will begin supply of products and support services. Also from this May, sales will begin in earnest in Indonesia. This represents a strong move into the fast-growing South East Asian markets.

ARKRAY, Inc. (herein 'ARKRAY') has established a sales office ARKRAY Co. Ltd., Inc. in Muntinlupa City, the Philippines. Sales and marketing operations are due to begin there from this May. The establishment of this office is part of ARKRAY's strategy to expand its business in South East Asia.

GDP in the Philippines increased 6.8%*1 in FY2013 and continues to show strong growth. Its in vitro diagnostic market is currently valued at 4.6 billion yen*2. With a population nearing 100 million, its diabetic population has reached a peak of 5.42 million which is expected to grow to 7 million by 2030*3.
ARKRAY Co. Ltd., Inc. will begin sales of diabetic test instruments and compatible reagents from May 2014 to meet this increased need for medical devices and in vitro diagnostics.

Indonesia is another country with strong growth. Sales are due to begin from the established sales office there PT.ARKRAY in May this year. Indonesia has the largest population within ASEAN (at about 240 million) and has an in vitro diagnostic market valued at approximately 7.9 billion yen*2. Indonesia is either the largest or second largest market within ASEAN. These markets are expected to continue to grow in line with overall economic growth. ARKRAY aims to boost growth through this increase in sales power as well as through an expanded product lineup as evidenced by the recent acquisition of the Indian company Span Diagnostics Ltd.

Starting with Indonesia and the Philippines, ARKRAY is focused on aggressive business expansion in the South East Asian region and meeting customer needs in all regions. ARKRAY has now estblished offices in 11 countries world wide and does business in more than 80. ARKRAY will continue to expand its business centers and work to increase its sales muscle.
